Power of perspective
No two people stand in the same spot
Every situation contains multiple perspectives. That same moment, seen completely differently by everyone in it.
The referee and the player. The consultant and the client. The parent and the kid.
No two people stand in the same position. No two people bring the same history, context, or experience to a moment.
The view is always different.
What’s interesting is that both views can be true at the same time. Not one right and one wrong. Just two different angles of the same thing.
The challenge is that we naturally trust our own angle most. It’s the only one we can see.
Knowing that others don’t see what you see is useful. Seeking out those other views to get closer to what’s actually happening. That’s a superpower.
The truth almost always needs more than one perspective to come into focus.
