One breath
Between reaction and response sits a single breath
An emotional reaction, a composed response One breath can be all the difference.
The outburst to a call. The defensive response when your approach is questioned. The frustration that comes with the toddler’s tantrum disrupting the plan.
Sometimes the wrong words appear before we realise.
There is usually a moment to take a breath before responding.
Sometimes we miss that moment. We justify reactions we aren’t actually proud of or quietly reflect on how we showed up.
Different perspectives and conflict are inevitable. How we react can often be predictable.
The space for one breath is almost always there. We just don’t always take it.
